Pine valley was developed to help retirees improve their unique style of living. Throughout the country, the South is known as a region of tradition, close family ties, and pride in the land and home. Although these strong values continue to be cherished, longer life spans are changing the way many Southern families are defining what they call "the home place". For many close Tuscaloosa families Pine Valley has become part of that new definition. Because children and grand children are such an important part of a retiree's life, many choose to move to the Tuscaloosa area from around the country to be near family.

"Pine Valley has been a big part of my life since 1985 -- when Pine Valley was but a dream and 800 Rice Valley Road was still a pine thicket.
Without wavering, we began construction in early 1986 and completed construction in early 1987. The first four ladies moved to Pine Valley in November 1986. Pine Valley continues to update with a new activity center under construction.
It is a pleasure for the Board of Managers to continue to serve you, and we remain committed to maintaining stability and continuity.
